- Hours: Rotating shift; Alternate opening and closing shifts (10:30am-7:00pm and 7:00am-3:30pm)

What You Will Do
Reporting to the Rehabilitation Service Manager, the role works with patients, their representatives, insurance carriers, and employers to determine patient benefits eligibility, pre-certify services, and verify benefits to ensure revenue reimbursement. Services primarily include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Responsibilities include:
- Screening registration data for payer and pre-certification compliance, correcting and updating accounts, and billing the appropriate party.
- Reviewing and analysing all required demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data collected by patient intake to expedite payment on patient accounts.
- Performing pre-certification notification via telephone or electronic means and gathering/completing all required documentation for submission to insurance carriers per payer requirements.
- Researching pre-certification denials including missing authorization, patient pre-certification or referral documentation.
- Confirming referral requirements for individual plans and working with referring physician offices to obtain referrals for all scheduled services, including additional office visits.
- Working productively from a task-based work queue and maintaining an acceptable productivity level to meet business needs.
What You Will Need
- Education: High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree in business or healthcare preferred.
- Certification: Valid driver’s license required if duties include off-site location work; maintain automobile liability coverage if using personal vehicle.
- Experience: Minimum of one to two years of registration, scheduling, or customer service experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Unique or Preferred Skills: Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology, and anatomy; strong data entry/keyboard skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; manual dexterity to operate office machines.
