The team combines a strong understanding of IT services with insight into industry trends, operational challenges, and emerging opportunities. Within automotive, this means helping clients respond to major shifts including software-defined vehicles, connected mobility, electrification, autonomous technologies, digital manufacturing, supply chain resilience, customer experience transformation, and new mobility business models.
The Principal Industry Advisor is a senior specialist role that combines deep automotive expertise with strong client engagement and advisory capability. Acting as a trusted advisor, this person will shape automotive-specific offerings, build senior client relationships, support strategic pursuits, and strengthen Endava’s position across the automotive ecosystem.
Responsibilities- Industry Expertise & Thought Leadership: Maintain a deep understanding of automotive industry trends, market dynamics, regulatory drivers, and technology shifts across OEMs, suppliers, mobility providers, dealerships, and adjacent ecosystems. Develop thought leadership, industry points of view, white papers, and trend analysis that demonstrate Endava’s expertise in areas such as software-defined vehicles, connected services, electrification, digital engineering, manufacturing transformation, customer experience, and data-led business models. Capture and share automotive insight across internal teams and regions through structured repositories, briefings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and learning initiatives. Shape and evolve Endava’s automotive offerings to ensure they remain aligned with market demand, client priorities, and future industry direction.
- Client Engagement & Business Development: Build and maintain senior relationships with automotive clients, translating strategic priorities and operational challenges into meaningful opportunities for Endava. Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and senior stakeholders across the automotive value chain. Support business introducers, client partners, and account teams with industry insight to identify, shape, and progress new business opportunities. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies that reflect automotive industry trends, client needs, and Endava’s strengths. Bring market context, client insight, and industry credibility to strategic pursuits, account planning, propositions, and executive conversations.
- Internal Collaboration & Enablement: Work closely with sales, delivery, engineering, and technical teams to guide Endava’s automotive industry strategy and priority initiatives. Provide training, workshops, and advisory support to strengthen internal automotive capability. Help internal teams translate market trends into practical client solutions across digital transformation, product innovation, platform modernisation, data strategy, and operational efficiency. Facilitate cross-industry knowledge sharing, applying relevant insight from sectors such as payments, insurance, retail, logistics, and technology to automotive opportunities.
- External Representation & Networking: Represent Endava as a senior automotive industry leader at events, conferences, client forums, industry bodies, media engagements, and through online content. Strengthen Endava’s profile, network, and influence within the automotive ecosystem. Build relationships with industry consortia, partner communities, analysts, technology partners, start-ups, consultancies, and external subject matter expert networks. Identify partnerships and ecosystem opportunities that support Endava’s automotive growth strategy.
- Insight & Opportunity Development: Use client feedback, market research, industry intelligence, and customer satisfaction insight to identify new avenues for growth. Provide senior-level guidance to clients on technology implementation, best practice, and industry-specific trends. Share actionable insight with product, engineering, delivery, and go-to-market teams to enhance Endava’s service offerings. Identify the skills, technologies, platforms, and partnerships required to advance Endava’s automotive capabilities. Contribute to presales, strategic planning, solution shaping, and project governance to ensure client outcomes align with industry priorities and commercial objectives.
- Extensive experience in a senior advisory, consultancy, strategy, or industry leadership role within automotive.
- Strong understanding of automotive market dynamics, competitive landscapes, industry trends, regulatory drivers, and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to develop and execute industry strategies across multiple geographies.
- Experience building executive-level client relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated thought leadership experience, including speaking at industry events and producing high-impact market insight.
