The Principal Industry Advisor is a senior specialist role central to Endava’s business strategy. This position blends deep industry expertise with excellent client engagement skills to enhance Endava’s market position and drive growth. This role is focused on the Energy & Resources sector and requires demonstrable experience in one or more of the following industries: Utilities, Mining, and Oil & Gas. Candidates may have gained this experience either by working directly within these sectors or through an IT Services, Technology Consulting, or Digital Transformation organization serving Energy & Resources clients.

Acting as a trusted advisor, the Principal Industry Advisor shapes industry-specific offerings, fosters client relationships, and significantly contributes to securing and expanding key business engagements.

Responsibilities:
  • Industry Knowledge & Thought Leadership
    • Lead the development of a comprehensive understanding of the specific industry, staying ahead of all relevant trends and dynamics.
    • Guide the creation and dissemination of white papers and industry trend analyses to highlight Endava’s expertise.
    • Ensure this knowledge is maintained in a robust internal repository for industry-wide sharing.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in Endava’s industry-specific offerings, ensuring they align with market demands and future trends.
    • Lead and coordinate industry briefings and knowledge sharing sessions, ensuring both clients and internal teams are well-informed.
    • Oversee the curation of content for Endava's 'industry university,' providing advanced educational resources for continuous learning.
  • Client Engagement & Business Development
    • Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with clients within the industry, translating their unique needs into strategic opportunities for Endava.
    • Build and sustain C-level executive trust, reinforcing Endava’s commitment to excellence in solutions.
    • Lead and support business introducers and account teams with advanced industry insights to drive significant new business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with senior sales and marketing teams to develop and execute compelling go-to-market strategies that resonate with industry trends and client needs.
  • Internal Collaboration & Enablement
    • Collaborate closely with senior sales, delivery, and technical teams to steer Endava’s industry-specific strategic initiatives.
    • Provide advanced industry-specific training and workshops to enhance team delivery and capability.
    • Utilise deep industry insights to influence and shape internal strategy, guiding Endava’s approach to current and future industry challenges.
    • Serve as a senior strategic advisor for internal teams, helping them navigate complex industry-related challenges.
    • Facilitate and lead cross-industry dialogue and learning through high-level internal roundtables and knowledge swaps.
  • External Representation & Networking
    • Represent Endava as a senior industry leader, contributing to high-profile industry events, online content, and media engagements.
    • Act as a senior representative at conferences, seminars, and industry events, enhancing Endava's network and influence.
    • Actively participate and lead roles in industry consortia, building strategic relationships that translate into significant business opportunities.
    • Expand Endava’s reach by establishing connections with external SME networks and leveraging these relationships for business growth.
  • Insight & Opportunity Cultivation
    • Lead the utilisation of customer satisfaction assessments and market research to identify and capitalise on new avenues for business growth.
    • Provide senior-level expert guidance on technology implementations, best practices, and industry-specific trends to clients.
    • Facilitate the sharing and exchange of actionable insights with product and engineering groups to inform Endava's service offerings.
    • Support and enhance the ecosystem of partners and vendors, enriching Endava’s value proposition through strategic collaboration.
    • Champion the advanced development of Endava’s capabilities in the industry, identifying key skills and technologies for investment.
    • Oversee and direct advisory roles within project governance, prioritising contributions to presales and strategic planning to ensure optimal outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in a senior advisory or consultancy role within the industry, demonstrating a track record of leadership and strategic impact.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams across multiple geographies, with the ability to inspire and drive high performance.
  • Significant experience in developing and executing global industry strategies, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
  • A strong background in cultivating executive-level client relationships and driving strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  • Demonstrated experience in thought leadership, including representing organisations at global industry events and producing impactful thought leadership materials.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-specific trends, challenges, and opportunities, with the ability to apply this insight to drive business value.
  • Exceptional strategic management and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and convincingly across various levels of an organisation.
