We are looking for an Employment Tax Manager to lead our Employment and Expatriate Tax agenda across the Group. This high-impact, UK-based role offers a global remit and supports the organization with a part-time option of 3–4 days per week. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will take ownership of a broad and strategically important area of tax, partnering with senior stakeholders across the business and shaping how the Group manages employment tax risk, governance and compliance as we continue to grow internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Group’s subject matter expert for employment and expatriate tax matters, providing clear, commercial and pragmatic advice across a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Lead and influence across areas including:
    • UK employment tax compliance, including PSA, P11D/PBIK, STBV and share scheme reporting
    • Global mobility, expatriate tax and cross-border working arrangements
    • Contractor tax risk, including IR35, employment status and worker classification
    • Share scheme tax matters, including global tax reviews, payroll reporting and tax authority filings
    • Payroll tax governance, benefits reviews, controls, documentation and SOX evidence
    • Employment tax risk management, provisions, policy and process improvement
    • M&A due diligence and integration across payroll, benefits, contractors, share plans and global mobility
    • Wider tax projects supporting the Group Tax function
  • This role is highly visible and involves close collaboration with Tax, Payroll, HR, Reward, Legal, Finance, Share Plans and business leaders across global operations.
  • Play a key role in identifying risk, driving practical solutions, strengthening controls and ensuring the business is well positioned to respond to changing employment tax requirements worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Extensive employment and expatriate tax experience, ideally in a global or international environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment tax compliance and related reporting obligations
  • Experience across global mobility, contractor status, share schemes, payroll tax controls and benefits
  • The ability to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional issues with confidence and pragmatism
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A recognised tax qualification, such as ATT or CTA, or a relevant accounting qualification with strong tax-specific experience
