Executive Director £85,000 + on-call allowance
Applications to work as Co-Directors welcomed
The End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW) is a group of feminist organisations and experts from across the UK, working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms. We believe that violence against women is not inevitable, and since 2005 we've been working to tear up the systems that enable it – and build a fairer world in its place. We drive social change through campaigning and shaping policy, and by challenging the wider cultural attitudes that tolerate and normalise this abuse. And we're proud of our sustained impact, convening a wide range of specialist women’s support services, researchers, activists, survivors and NGOs to transform the political and social systems that enable violence against women.
The appointment of our former Executive Director, Andrea Simon, as the new Victims' Commissioner for London creates an exceptional opportunity to succeed her and build on her legacy. We're looking for an experienced, committed and visionary leader, who can both consolidate and maintain the achievements of recent years, while also innovating in response to new and emerging threats to women's safety. We must continue to hold power to account, support our member organisations, drive change at a system level, and deliver tangible change for women and girls.
Candidates will bring a substantial track record of visible and influential leadership in a VAWG or other social justice context, with a particular focus on system change. Your skillset must include organisational development, building a strong culture, driving income generation and forging strong relationships and coalitions of purpose. Everything you do will be rooted in a nuanced understanding of intersectionality, and relentless anti-racist practice. Strong candidates will additionally be confident and persuasive communicators, including in national forums and broadcast media, and will have experience of leading through and beyond organisational change.
