Part-Time Energy Harvesting or Mechatronics Engineer
Encortec is a University of Exeter spin-out developing self-powered, low-power IoT monitoring systems for industrial assets and critical infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Energy Harvesting or Mechatronics Engineer to develop and optimise our energy-harvesting technologies.
The Role
The focus of this role is:
- Vibration energy harvesting for industrial assets
- Electromagnetic field energy harvesting for electrified railways
- Mechanical and mechatronic system design
- CAD design and mechanical prototyping
- COMSOL finite-element modelling and simulation
- Hands-on prototype development and testing
- Experimental validation and performance optimisation
- Integration with power electronics and energy storage
You will work closely with our engineering team and external manufacturing partner.
