Since we opened our doors in 2004, our mission has been simple: to deliver an outstanding experience for every customer, with genuine care at the heart of everything we do. We don’t just look after buildings, we look after the people who call them home, treating each property as if it were our own.

Our ambition is to be regarded as the most professional managing agent in the country — with a team of exceptional people who are energized by what they do. We’re all about communication, collaboration, teamwork—and having fun while we work. By creating an inviting environment for our people to be inspired, learn and flourish, it can make all the difference.

The Role

Lead a talented accounting team, shape best practice, and play a key role in delivering accurate, high‑quality service charge accounts across a varied property portfolio. We’re looking for a confident and detail‑focused Service Charge Accounts Coordinator to take ownership of the service charge accounting function for a dedicated portfolio of estates. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with people leadership, problem‑solving and cross‑team collaboration.

In this role, you’ll manage and support a team of Service Charge Accountants while working closely with colleagues across Estate Management, Legal, Facilities and Client Accounting. You’ll help ensure accounts are delivered accurately, deadlines are met, processes are followed, and your team feels motivated, supported and set up for success.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be at the heart of the service charge accounting operation, ensuring company policies and procedures are applied consistently, accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing service charge and RMC accounts, raising demands and completing bank reconciliations for a small portfolio of estates
  • Monitoring cashflow across your estates and identifying potential issues before they become problems
  • Managing a team of Service Charge Accountants, ensuring key milestones are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Holding regular team meetings and one‑to‑ones to support performance, development and engagement
  • Coaching, mentoring and training team members where needed
  • Allocating tasks effectively across the team
  • Carrying out internal reviews of service charge accounts in line with Review Matrices
  • Championing the Encore Way and setting a positive example for your team
  • Completing annual staff appraisals and probation reviews
  • Managing ground rent remittances to freeholders
  • Supporting budget reviews
  • Handling corporation tax administration
  • Working with the Service Charge Accounts Manager to improve systems, refine procedures and strengthen commercial awareness across the team

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings technical expertise, strong leadership skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification, or be qualified by experience
  • Experience preparing year‑end accounts
  • Experience working in an accountancy practice, desirable but not essential
  • At least 2 years’ managerial or supervisory experience
  • Experience using Qube Property Management software, advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided

You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and diary management skills
  • Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and create a positive, can‑do culture
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, with confidence handling financial information
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Competence with mail merging
  • The ability to build strong working relationships across different teams and departments

This is a role where you can make a real impact. You’ll have the opportunity to lead people, improve processes, work with a wide range of stakeholders and play an important part in delivering a high‑quality service to clients and residents.

Why Work with Us?

  • Great Team Environment: You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team that works hard and has fun along the way.
  • Growth Opportunities: We believe in helping our people grow. With extensive training and development, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to advance your career.
  • Competitive Salary & Perks: We offer a competitive salary, benefits, and a positive workplace culture where your contributions are valued.

At Encore, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service and managing valuable residential estates with expertise and care. This is your opportunity to grow into a leadership role while making a real impact in the lives of our clients.
