As an Estate Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day upkeep of a residential estate. Your duties will include maintaining the quality of internal and external communal areas, carrying out routine maintenance, and delivering excellent customer service to residents and visitors.
- Location:Brentford, London, TW8
- Annual Salary: £27,352
- Hours/Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4pm
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all communal areas are clean and well-maintained at all times
- Conduct regular site inspections and report faults or maintenance issues to the Development/Estate Manager
- Carry out and oversee minor maintenance tasks, such as adjusting doors, hinges, and handles
- Assist with waste management, ensuring bins are accessible for collection and bin stores are kept clean
- Maintain car parks and cycle storage areas, ensuring they remain clean, secure, and hazard-free
- Support soft landscaping tasks, including watering and leaf/weed removal
- Assist with system testing, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, and water features
- Monitor and understand the operation of Building Management Systems and mechanical/electrical plant equipment
- Ensure all contractors adhere to Health & Safety regulations while on-site
- Provide security by monitoring access, overseeing CCTV, checking visitor IDs, and conducting regular patrols

- Experience in cleaning, gardening, or minor maintenance
- A good standard of education
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Competency in using a smartphone
- Legal right to work in the UK
- A practical, hands-on approach with skills in maintenance, plumbing, fencing, or small works
- Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with residents
- A positive and proactive attitude with good problem-solving abilities
