Position Overview
The Director, Marketing and Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of integrated marketing plans and activities to deliver against brand and business objectives for Encore EMEA (across several European countries). This position has overall accountability for marketing planning and communications, playing a key role in the strategic development and execution of brand and content initiatives. This position is also responsible for lead generation to support our sales effort, and to grow and nurture a qualified database of potential prospects to build Encore EMEA’s Pipeline of future customers and venue partners. Also, critical to this role will be the capacity to develop creative brand content and drive demand creation activities, as well as the ability to collaborate across the Encore EMEA’s CEM, Sales and Operations organisation, serving as key partner and marketing lead in the development of sales enablement resources, tools and overall support to grow the business. Reporting directly to the Sr Director, Corporate Communications, this role will be a critical member of the Commercial team and will work collaboratively throughout the organisation to develop and deliver integrated marketing and demand gen campaigns that have a measurable and strategic impact on our business.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Marketing, and Demand Generation
- Deliver World Class Service - Develop and deploy marketing initiatives that have measurable and strategic impact on our business, consistently generate profitable revenue growth, drive website traffic, marketing qualified leads and increase Encore’s brand recognition.
- See the Big Picture – Act as a brand ambassador for Encore in EMEA by activating and localizing global brand assets in line with Encore Global brand standards and requirements.
- Responsible for performance of Encore EMEA websites, manage and update website content, optimise for SEO and AI, build and develop SEM Strategy to achieve targeted ROI.
- Partner with the CEM, sales, and operations teams to create the marketing materials, tools and resources (lead nurturing campaigns, collateral, brochures, videos) to effectively communicate our brand, value proposition and solution‑focused offerings.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle for projects and campaigns, ensuring deliverables are timely and on budget.
- Monitor and report on success of marketing communication initiatives.
- Drive Results - Manage and grow our EMEA marketable customer database, improving quality, increasing opt‑in to marketing comms and nurturing customer engagement through relevant and timely communications.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure our CRM strategy is adopted and supported, and that we grow marketable contacts via our sales teams.
- Content Marketing & Thought Leadership
- Develop relevant, inspiring and engaging content that positions Encore EMEA as a strategic thought leader in the industry and drives demand for our services.
- Leverage a variety of external channels to amplify content and messages.
- Develop and execute content plans and assets including content marketing articles and video content etc.
- Develop digital marketing to distribute and amplify brand content across the media channels to scale audience delivery that drives traffic to the website and generate leads.
- External Communications
- Lead internal communications strategy and execution across email, intranet (Encore Connect), and internal social platforms.
- Manage EMEA intranet content, newsletters, and national team meeting communications.
- Translate, adapt, and localize all internal and external communications from English to various languages.
- Lead external communications initiatives, including media outreach, thought leadership content, speaking engagements and brand positioning for the market.
- Oversee the development of content for all social media platforms, tailoring and translating for each market and in coordination with the global social media strategy and policies.
- Partner with Encore for All Business Resource Groups to ensure inclusive and accessible communications.
- Analytics, Measurement & Reporting
- Do the Right Thing - Measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing programs and campaigns with the purpose of improving resource allocation, efficiency and revenue generation.
- Manage the brand and communication marketing budget and create compelling business cases for future investment.
- People Leadership & Team Development
- Develop and/or hire Encore EMEA’s marketing and communications team.
- Provide direction and coaching to staff and allocate the resources necessary to achieve business objectives.
- Lead the internal team to support the growth of the business and collaborate with creative service resources and as‑needed specialists (Freelancer) that support the development of campaign assets and relevant content and enhance the departments’ capabilities.
- Value People - Promote a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
- Manage performance, addresses employee concerns, maintains adequate staffing levels, and facilitates team development.
- Manage the HR activities including selection, performance management, and learning.
- Provide focused and continued coaching to develop the skills of team members.
- Train employees on Encore standards for service and equipment, and verifies they are properly trained.
- Recommend team members for training opportunities, as needed.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marketing or related field of study with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong track record developing branded national marketing and communications campaigns.
- Expert understanding of how content plays an integral role in brands overall messaging strategy as well as SEO, digital and social strategy.
- Demonstrated expertise in creating marketing programs that have breakthrough branding and highly persuasive impact.
- Balanced blend of strategic, practical, analytical and creative thinking skills.
- Function as both a “leader” and “doer”. Provide leadership for members of the marketing team while executing tasks as a “hands‑on” member of the team.
- Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and influence senior leadership.
- Proactively collaborates with cross‑functional teams to create a result driven, team‑oriented environment.
- Bi‑lingual communication skills (French, German, Spanish) a plus.
Work Environment
Office Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on‑call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
