Combining infrastructure architecture, project delivery, and hands‑on technical expertise, you'll lead the design and implementation of robust solutions, act as a senior technical escalation point, and drive continuous improvement across our technology estate.
Working across storage, virtualisation, networking, servers, operating systems and security, you'll also mentor colleagues and help develop the next generation of technical talent.
What you can expect as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer
- Salary range of up to £75,000 (DOE)

Key responsibilities include
- Lead the design, delivery and optimisation of infrastructure solutions and services, ensuring reliability, availability and security across the group.
- Act as a senior technical authority, providing 3rd line support, resolving complex incidents, and serving as an escalation point for major issues.
- Drive infrastructure projects from scoping and architecture through to implementation, ensuring business requirements are translated into effective technical solutions.
- Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities, including vulnerability management, patching, disaster recovery testing, risk mitigation and continuous service improvement.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors and technical teams to standardise services, shape technical roadmaps and support strategic initiatives.
- Promote best practice across IT governance, security, compliance and ITIL processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and audit requirements.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and helping to develop technical capability across the wider team.
- Maintain expertise in emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to enhance and future-proof the infrastructure estate.
We are looking for someone with
- Strong expertise across Windows Server platforms
- Strong expertise in VMWare virtualisation technologies
- Deep experience with Netapp Ontap Storage
- Be able to contribute to the 3rd level technical expertise across Microsoft, Dell, Netapp, and Azure
- Exchange 2016/2019 Hybrid, Office 365 and Azure AD
- Strong Automation skills especially Powershell
- Understanding and expertise in security products and services
- Dell and Netapp hardware, including traditional 3-tier and HCI (Vx Rail/VSAN/NSX).
- Storage and Backup Management using SAN/NAS based technologies
- Web-based technologies, e. g. IIS, . Net. and Microservices
- Administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DFS/DHCP/WINS, Windows File & Print services
- Pro‑active problem solving and diagnosis skills - able to communicate to internal/external clients and must demonstrate documentation skills.
- Load balancing technology using Citrix Netscalers and other means
- Windows Clustering
- Team player, with the ability to mentor/up skill other team members.
