Encon Staffing associates are working on behalf of a national fire protection sub-contractor that is looking to add a Contracts Manager with Fire Door and Fire Protection experience to their team.
Location: Head office based in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire. This role involves covering live sites across the UK, offering a mix of "on the road" work and opportunities for hybrid working from home and the office.

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contracts Manager specializing in Fire Doors to join our client’s expanding Fire Door Division. This is a key role that will significantly contribute to the growth and development of fire door projects across their portfolio. The successful candidate will work with main contractors, care homes, hotels, and FM providers across the UK, delivering various fire protection works, including fire stopping, fire curtains, fire doors, and passive fire surveys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage fire door projects from initial survey and scoping through to installation and completion.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Manager, suppliers, and clients to develop scopes of work and quotations.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and on schedule.
- Perform fire door surveys and inspections.
- Scope and price projects alongside the commercial team.
- Manage installation teams and subcontractors.
- Order doorsets and ironmongery.
- Program works and coordinate site activities.
- Conduct quality control and compliance checks.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Experience Required:
We are looking for someone with hands-on fire door experience who understands both installation and project delivery.
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of fire door installation and remedials.
- Previous experience as a fire door joiner.
- Experience managing projects or site teams.
- Ability to survey and scope fire door works.
- Confident in client communication and professional email writing.
- Comfortable using a PC for report and documentation production.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
- Experience with IFC / FIRAS / BM TRADA.
- Fire door inspection qualifications (FDIS, etc.).
- Carpentry/joinery background.
- Experience working on commercial projects.
