Personal Assistant (PA) – Community Support
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
I’m a 43-year-old gentleman living with my parents in Galashiels. I have a learning disability and epilepsy, I’m looking for a friendly, reliable and experienced Personal Assistant (PA) to support me to get out and about and enjoy social activities in the local community.
I require 1:1 support to access community activities and local resources safely. I have limited awareness of potential risks and dangers and am unable to summon help independently in an emergency, so I rely on others to help keep me safe when out and about.
I use a wheelchair when out in the community, although I can weight bear with support. My PA will need to assist me appropriately with my mobility and use their own car to help me access activities and outings. The vehicle must have sufficient space to accommodate a folding wheelchair.
I’m looking for someone who is patient, understanding and dependable, who can provide reassuring support while helping me enjoy getting out and about.
