A young girl living in Kelso is looking for a kind, friendly, and reliable Personal Assistant to provide one-to-one support and companionship. As the relationship and level of trust develops, the role will also progress to include personal care support. Full mobility training will be provided to ensure the successful candidate feels confident and competent in carrying out these tasks.

The role is focused on helping her build confidence, enjoy new experiences, and feel comfortable accessing activities and groups outside the home. The successful candidate will provide encouragement and friendship, helping her to get involved in the local community and enjoy having a supportive buddy alongside her. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and would like to make a positive difference through regular one-to-one support.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly companionship and one-to-one support.
  • Encourage confidence and independence.
  • Support the young person to attend external groups and activities.
  • Encourage involvement in the local community.

  • Support her to try new activities and experiences at her own pace.

Terms

  • Location: Kelso
  • Hours: 2 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: Flexible, to be agreed with the employer.
  • Rate of Pay: £14.05 per hour.
  • Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
  • Probationary Period: 6 months.
  • Appointment: Subject to satisfactory references and PVG / Disclosure Scotland check.
