A cheerful young man living with his family in Kelso is looking for a friendly Personal Assistant / Support Worker to help him enjoy the activities he loves. The role is all about companionship and encouragement—supporting him at home and out in the community so he can take part in hobbies and social outings with confidence. He enjoys the cinema, the gym, shopping trips, cooking, and catching up over a cuppa. He’s also a keen sports fan (though not fishing!) and would like someone who shares his enthusiasm for getting out and about.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and general support to ensure the client’s safety and wellbeing
- Assist with everyday tasks and light care needs as required
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the client’s equipment and immediate surroundings
- Plan and join in activities—both at home and in the local community
- Accompany the client on short trips for social activities, including driving if applicable
- Work independently at times and, when needed, alongside a parent or another team member
- Build and maintain a positive, respectful relationship with the client and his family

Terms
- Hours: Flexible average of 3 hours per week, which can be arranged in blocks if preferred
- Pay Rate: £13.10 per hour
- Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
- Probationary Period: 3 months
- Social Mileage: Paid
- Appointment subject to satisfactory reference checks and a PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) check
