A lady living in Hawick is looking for a kind, reliable, and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to assist her whilst her current PA goes on maternity cover, with a planned start date of late October. She is an older lady who lives independently with some support from her family. She is losing her sight and has only very limited vision, which can cause problems, particularly when cooking meals. She is looking for someone to help her prepare her dinner in the evening, by supporting her to make a meal of her choosing and ensuring she is not at risk of burning herself or under-preparing the food.

Terms:

  • Hours of work: 3.50 per week
  • £14.05 per hour
  • Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
  • Probationary period of 6 months
  • Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Job Description

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Encourage and support her to prepare an evening meal
  • Supervision to ensure she is safe and not at risk from scalds or accidents
  • Assist her to plate up her meal when properly cooked and tidy up any utensils/pots etc before leaving her to eat her meal
