A lovely elderly lady living at home in Hawick, is looking for an experienced and patient support worker to join her small team to offer her some support on a couple of evenings a week to make her dinner. The role would involve a dinner visit, initially 4 evenings a week for 30 minutes to heat through/cook a light meal and for a blether. She needs assistance to help her remember to make a meal and keep herself safe when doing so due to poor mobility. There is the opportunity for more hours as the care package is likely to increase going forward.
Terms:
- Hours per week: up to 2 hours
- Hours of work: 30 minute visits at team time (around 4.30/5pm) on 4 days of the week – flexible but not a Wednesday
- £13.20 per hour.
- Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
- Probationary period of 3 months
- Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
Job Description
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- To support client to ensure their safety and well-being within their home.
- To support with general care needs including:
- Support to make an evening meal
- Reminder plan and eat meals.
- Support to mobilise around home to make a meal.
- To maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and surroundings.
- To develop a positive relationship with the client and her family.
