A gentleman in Ettrickbridge is looking for a personal assistant to spend time with him for a few hours throughout the week to give his wife a break from her caring role. The role would be perfect for someone who is patient, active, outgoing and friendly. Support with personal care/showering during the visit is also required.

Terms

  • Hours per week: 2 Hours per week initially with intention to going to 4 hours per week.
  • Hours of work: 1 x 2-hour block. Day can be negotiable.
  • £13.80 per hour.
  • Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata.
  • Probationary period of 6 months.
  • Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership.

Job Description Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • To support with personal care routine when showering/strip wash.
  • To support with general care needs including:
  • Personal care assistance, medication prompts.
  • Snack/light meal and drink preparation.
  • To develop a positive relationship with the client and his family.
  • Personal Attributes

    • Reliable and trustworthy.
    • Ability to use your own initiative.
    • Ability to work sensitively in a home setting respecting the client right to privacy and to always maintain professional standards of confidentiality.
