A 41 year old male with autism living within his own home in Hawick, is currently looking for one or two new personal assistants to join his team to become a relief worker covering illness and holidays. He requires 24 hour care and needs support with most of his day‑to‑day tasks and any social tasks.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Support with all aspects of personal care.
- Support with medication, ensuring accurate recording at all times.
- Planning and preparation of meals – assistance and supervision when eating to ensure safety.
- Take him out and about to access the community and participate in activities such as swimming or going out for lunch.
- Any other tasks as required.

- Someone with a genuine caring nature who is sensitive to the problems a disability can bring.
- Cheerful with a good sense of humour.
- Honest, reliable and confidential.
- Experience of moving and handling or willing to undergo the relevant training.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Hours of work
- 1 x 24hr period, 10am-10am and a 1 x 5 hours shift 10am-3pm per week.
- Possibility of additional sleepovers or additional day hours.
- Working patterns vary but you will always be given your rota in advance.
- Day shifts are always double-ups and night shifts will require lone working.
Pay
- Monday – Friday: £14.05 per hour.
- Saturday and Sunday: £14.20 per hour.
- Night shifts: £103.50 per shift.
- Waking nights: £122.40 per shift.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave calculated on a pro-rata basis.
