I’m a friendly, chatty young gentleman who lives in Galashiels with a mild learning/physical disability that requires me to be in a wheelchair. I’m looking for a PA for daily morning, lunchtime, teatime and bedtime visits when I’m at home, but I also like to go for days out/weekends away, so I need someone to support me with personal care and keep me safe, whilst encouraging as much independence as possible. This can be a job share between PAs or one PA, hours can be made full time.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Support to get up, showered/washed/dried and dressed
- Support with toileting
- Prep and serve breakfast/lunch/dinner
- Support with bedtime clothing/personal care
- Escorted to appointments
- I also would like a PA to escort me to activities as and when needed
- Driver as I have a mobility car
Personal attributes
- Kind and caring with a good sense of humour

- Trustworthy and reliable
- Driving Licence essential
- Experience with moving and handling or willingness to learn
Hours
- Blocks of hours for personal care, activities, W/Ends away, Days Out, etc.
- Times are flexible and can be discussed with suitable candidates
The terms
- £14.20 per hour
- Expenses paid when out with the client
- 5.6 weeks annual leave on a pro rata basis
