Personal Assistant Wanted – Lauder
Are you a kind, patient and caring person who enjoys making a real difference to someone’s day? I’m looking for friendly and reliable Personal Assistants to support me in my own home. I am an elderly lady living with dementia and mobility difficulties, and I would like to remain in the comfort of my own home for as long as possible. Your support will help me maintain my independence, dignity and daily routine. The most important part of this role is building a trusting relationship. Initially, you’ll spend time getting to know me, helping me feel comfortable and confident with the support you provide.
What you’ll be helping with:
- Providing gentle encouragement and support with personal care and dressing.
- Checking and emptying my catheter bag.
- Making sure I am wearing my Borders Care Alarm.
- Preparing simple meals and drinks and encouraging me to eat and stay hydrated.
- Prompting and ensuring I take my medication at each visit.
- Helping me change into nightwear and connecting my catheter to the night bag in the evening.
- Supporting me with other day-to-day tasks that help me remain safe, comfortable and independent at home.

Hours available:
Support is required seven days a week, with visits at:
- Morning: 1 hour
- Lunchtime: 30 minutes
- Early evening: 30 minutes
Flexible working available. Days and hours can be discussed to suit the right candidate, and the role can be shared between two or more Personal Assistants, making it ideal for those looking for part‑time or flexible work while ensuring consistent support throughout the week.
What we offer:
