A gentleman in Jedburgh is looking for kind, patient and considerate Personal Assistant(s) to assist with managing his personal care needs and assistance with his morning routine safely and efficiently. Double up care is required when mobilising, and a second carer or family members will be on hand to assist with moving and handling procedures.
Terms and Hours:
- Tuesday and Wednesday - 3 hours per day (7am-10am)
- Saturday and Sunday – 2.5 hours per day (7am-9.30am)
- 15 mins lunch visit Monday – Sunday total of 75 hours per week
- 15 mins evening visit Monday – Sunday total of hours 1.75 per week
- Total of up to 14.50 hours per week available
- Social time also available of 4 hours per week – specifics to be discussed with client
£14.35 per hour. Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata. Probationary period of 6 months. Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership.
Job Description Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- To support the client to ensure their safety and well-being.
- To support with personal care routine as/when required.
- Personal care assistance in the mornings with shower/bed bath.
- Getting dressed and applying creams.
- Assist with breakfast preparation.
- Assistance to and from the commode during visit.
- Hoists and stand aids in place to help with moving and handling assistance – family member/other PA will be the 2nd person.
- To develop a positive relationship with the client and work as part of a team.

Skills and Experience:
- Hoists are used for all transfers, so experience of moving and handling is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided.
- Someone with the right personal attributes, and to be able to show some suitability for the role is required.
