A lady living with dementia in Hawick is looking for support with her personal care routine in the mornings and evenings, attending to her continence care needs in particular and assisting with a daily shower. Assistance with meal preparation and getting her set up ready for the day will also be required. Additional time of 2 hours per week has been allocated to provide social/emotional support out with the care visits.
Terms:
- Hours of work – Total of 23 hours per week as listed below:
- Morning visit (1 hour) Monday – Sunday
- Lunchtime visit (30 mins) Monday – Sunday
- Teatime Visit (45 mins) Monday – Sunday
- Evening visit (45 mins) Monday – Sunday
- Additional social/emotional support – 2 hours per week
- £14.05 per hour.
- Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
- Probationary period of 6 months
- Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
- To support with personal care routine in the mornings and evenings.
- To support with general care needs including:
- Continence care
- Medication prompts and applying prescribed creams
- Meal and drink preparation.
- Shower/personal care assistance
- To develop a positive relationship with the client and work as part of a team.

- Experience supporting individuals living with dementia would be beneficial

Skills and Experience:
- Experience supporting individuals living with dementia would be beneficial however someone with the right personal attributes, and to be able to show some suitability for the role will be considered.
