Gentleman in Hawick requires care and companionship from a Care Worker to help him achieve as full and safe a life as possible. In addition to this, to ensure that the Client’s mother has adequate respite. He is currently looking for an additional support worker to join his team.

Terms:

  • Hours per week: 4
  • Hours of work: days and hours to be discussed with potential applicants
  • £13.20 per hour
  • Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
  • Probationary period of 6 months
  • Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Job Description Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • To support with personal care routine as/when required.
  • Providing emotional and social support.
  • To develop a positive relationship with the client and work as part of a team.

Personal Attributes:

  • To uphold the wishes, choices and preferences of the client at all times.
  • Good communicator, motivated, enthusiastic with a kind and caring personality.
  • To promote, encourage and assist the client to maintain their individual skills, interests and activities.
  • Also discussing new activities that the client may enjoy.
  • Physically active and able to push a wheelchair.
  • Ideally experienced in working with people who have memory loss or dementia.

Skills and Experience:

Experience is not essential for a candidate with the right personal attributes, but they should be able to show some suitability for the role.
