A kind and friendly gentleman, living at home just a couple of miles south-east of Duns, is looking for a Personal Assistant (or Assistants) to provide daily support and help him maintain his independence. The role would involve supporting the gentleman with meal preparation and day planning. Due to early onset dementia, he sometimes needs help ensuring he eats regularly throughout the day. Flexibility is important, as he enjoys spending time with his nearby family when possible. He is seeking support around breakfast time.

Terms

  • Hours per week: Up to 6 hours
  • Hours of work: 1 hour visits
  • £15.00 per hour
  • Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
  • Probationary period of 6 months
  • Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

Job Description

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support the client to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Assist with general care needs, including:
    • Meal and drink preparation (including leaving a sandwich for lunch)
    • Help maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and surroundings
  • Develop a positive relationship with the client and his family
