A lady living at home in Duns is looking for an experienced, friendly, and patient support worker to join her small team that provides her with support daily. The client has support a couple of times a day to help her with her morning and evening routines, cooking and medication prompts. Support is also about offering emotional support and reassurance at each visit whilst encouraging her to remain as independent as possible. She is currently looking for someone to cover her weekend dinner visits, although there is the opportunity for more hours as time goes on and a relationship is built to cover annual leave hours etc. Applications need to also be aware that the client has a small dog.
Terms
- Hours per week: 2 hours per week, plus possible holiday cover.
- Hours of work: 1 hour visit Saturday and Sunday around 4pm.
- £14.45 per hour.
- Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata.
- Probationary period of 3 months.
- Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership.
Job Description Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
- To support with general care needs which include on every visit: Meal and drink preparation support. Medication prompts.
- To support with personal care needs if required on morning and evening visits which may involve support to access shower if required, support with dressing, support to change bed and offer reassurance that the client is safe.
- To support to maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and surroundings.
- To develop a positive relationship with the client and her family.
- To offer emotional support and reassurance when supporting client to be as independent as possible with daily tasks.
- To work flexibly as part of a team providing daily support to the client.
