A family and a young 9-year-old girl in Chirnside are looking for someone to provide the girl with some support on a regular basis.
The hope is that the support worker could help the girl to find some regular activity to attend and support her to go along on a regular basis.
The role is for around 3 hours per week but this can be used flexibly to suit.
This role would be suitable to someone who has experience of ASD and ADHD and can support a young person with issues relating to this including sensitivity to textures and frustration management.
Terms
- Hours per week: Up to 3 hours a week – to be used flexibly.
- Hours of work: to be determined when activity planned out with school hours.
- Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
- Probationary period of 6 months
- Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
- Mileage up to

Job Description
- Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- To support a young person to ensure their safety and well-being as she has no awareness of danger when out and about in particular.
- To support with personal care needs if required
- To support with general care needs such as chopping up of food and being aware of food textures if required.
- To support client to find a regular activity to attend then on-going support to attend this activity.
- To develop a positive relationship with the young person and her family.
- To interact with the client and keep them entertained with activities they enjoy.
- To work alongside a parent or another member of the team when required but to work independently too
- To accompany the client on short trips out of the house for social activities.
