Encompass Digital Media is a global managed services company focused on supporting TV networks, broadcasters, sports leagues and digital platforms with the delivery of their linear/nonlinear video and audio content across television, radio and digital platforms. We design, implement and operate reliable video and audio solutions that capture, process and deliver clients’ content from any source, in any format, to any destination in the most efficient and reliable way possible.

Main Purpose

  • The Master Control Operator will manage multiple channel playouts in accordance with Encompass and Client standard operating procedures.
  • Be prepared and able to work in a 24/7 environment on a rotational shift pattern.
  • Responsible for a multi-client, multi-channel environment, working on high profile live sports and news events.
  • Monitor TX/RX feeds and maintain the on-air presence of the channels at all times.
  • Ensure the supplied TX schedule is checked and executed in the required manner.
  • Perform service recovery when required to minimise outages.
  • React to automation warnings in the required manner.
  • Raise any technical issues to the Senior TX staff or Operations Manager as per standard operational procedures.
  • Identify and request missing materials and perform last minute changes.
  • Complete daily Transmission outage logs and reports.
  • Ensure that any issues awaiting resolution are handed over to the next shift.
  • Assist in other operational roles within the department as and when required.
  • Liaise with Clients and Internal departments in a professional manner.
  • Train new staff as and when required.
  • Ensure all media schedules are prepared for playout and conform to Ofcom and specific client guidelines.
  • Carry out other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Must have previous multi-channel, fully automated transmission experience.
  • Experience with Pebble Beach Marina and Clarity an advantage.
  • A good operational knowledge of transmission technologies.
  • Previous experience of liaising with clients.
  • Knowledge of Ofcom channel guidelines.
