Job Title: People Advisor

Reporting to: People Manager

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract – Maternity Cover

Encompass Digital Media (‘Encompass’) is a global managed services company focused on supporting TV networks, broadcasters, sports leagues and digital platforms with the delivery of their linear/nonlinear video and audio content across television, radio and digital platforms.

We design, implement and operate reliable video and audio solutions that capture, process and deliver clients’ content from any source, in any format, to any destination in the most efficient and reliable way possible.

Position Summary:

To work in a generalist capacity, responsible for ensuring efficient and high-quality HR support is delivered to the UK and radio overseas businesses.

As part of the UK People Team, reporting to the People Manager, this role will also work collaboratively with the VP People, APAC & EMEA and Chief People Officer on global People Team projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Welfare

  • Act as the HR lead on employee relations cases including absence management, disciplinaries, grievances, ensuring a fair and best practice approach is followed
  • Prepare and issue all correspondence in relation to all employee relations cases
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with managers, providing coaching and providing advice on HR policies and procedures
  • Support and guide managers through performance issues advising on a best practice approach for Performance Improvement Plans (PIP process)
  • Lead on redundancy and re-structuring initiatives, ensuring a fair consultation process, accurate preparation of redundancy costs, effective employee communications
  • Support and manage family leave and flexible working processes

Recruitment

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from business approval to candidate offers
  • Partner with recruiting managers to define recruitment approach for each job vacancy
  • Manage the Company LinkedIn recruiter page and utilise LinkedIn tools and other recruitment channels to actively source and engage talent
  • Coach and assist managers throughout the interview process and ensure accurate and timely feedback is provided to all candidates.
  • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies regarding candidates and agreeing terms of business
  • Build and maintain partnerships with universities, schools, and other external organisations to attract best talent for early career talent such as apprentices
  • Prepare all offers of employment and ensure a seamless candidate handover to People & Payroll Coordinator for the onboarding process
  • Regularly review and update Job Descriptions to ensure they reflect current role responsibilities
  • Support the onboarding of new employees and assist managers throughout the probation process.

Employee Engagement

  • Promote employee engagement initiatives, including engagement surveys, and support managers to implement actions based on survey feedback
  • Support managers in recognising any patterns in employee engagement and help to develop strategies to drive improvements

General

  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to employees and managers on all general HR related queries
  • Conduct regular meetings with managers to identify and resolve issues before they escalate
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, as required
  • Provide day to day operational and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the HR function
  • Responsible for conducting exit interviews where needed, and work with the People Manager to review collected data to identify trends and insights, and follow up with relevant stakeholders

Education:

  • CIPD qualification desirable but not essential

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven HR generalist experience working in a fast paced and rapidly changing business environment
  • Knowledge of the broadcast industry and working in a shift-based environment is advantageous
  • Previous experience of redundancy and restructuring is essential
  • Solid understanding of UK legislation
  • Confidence to coach managers through HR policies & procedures
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Team orientated and results focused
  • Strong organisation and communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Experience and familiarity with a HR HCM system would be advantageous
