As Automated Warehouse Engineer, you'll be the technical authority behind a highly advanced automated warehouse, shaping the strategy, standards and future of its control systems. This is a business‑critical position with real influence: leading major CAPEX projects, driving large‑scale automation upgrades and solving complex engineering challenges that go beyond routine fixes – especially where legacy or obsolete equipment demands innovative thinking. You'll operate with high autonomy, setting safety and control standards while guiding internal engineering teams and external contractors through critical commissioning phases. Your expertise will be key to ensuring seamless operations and minimal downtime in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment. The Key Requirements

  • Lead delivery of large‑scale automation CAPEX projects, coordinating technical execution and minimising downtime during complex outages.
  • Define and develop solutions for obsolescence challenges, building robust technical cases to support capital investment.
  • Oversee OEM and supplier specifications, ensuring cost‑effective, compliant, and reliable automation systems.
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point, resolving complex PLC and control system faults to protect operations and service levels.
  • Design and implement bespoke solutions for critical legacy equipment, maintaining high‑speed operational performance.
  • Lead engineering risk assessments and safety system design, with authority to stop unsafe operations when required.
  • Supervise contractors during commissioning, ensuring strict adherence to engineering and safety standards.
  • Mentor and lead the engineering team, driving performance and technical excellence.
