Job Introduction

TANKHOUSE OPERATOR APPRENTICE | 18-month Apprenticeship | Elton | Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm Fri 8am-2.30pm

Salary: Year 1: £10.85 per hour. From Year 2 (age dependent): £10.85 per hour (18–20 years old), £12.71 per hour (21+).

About the role:

As a Tankhouse Operator Apprentice, you’ll work alongside our operations team to help manage bulk products, process plants and production systems. You’ll learn how world-class manufacturing works while developing practical skills that can launch a long-term career.

You’ll:

  • Learn how to run and support key production processes safely and efficiently
  • Help keep product quality and food safety standards high
  • Support the smooth flow of products to production and filling lines
  • Work with modern equipment, machinery, and process systems
  • Assist with quality checks, sampling, and accurate process records
  • Help manage vehicle movements and maintain a safe Process Yard
  • Be involved in shift handovers and team communication
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and HMRC compliance procedures
  • Keep work areas clean, organised, and hazard-free
  • Spot improvement opportunities and share your ideas
  • Build your skills through hands-on training and development

You’ll learn how to:

  • Operate equipment, machinery, and tools safely
  • Follow Safe Operating Procedures, SOPs, and risk assessments
  • Wear and use PPE correctly
