As an HSE Officer, you will provide day-to-day coordination and expert advice on Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) matters to the designated function. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, supporting the implementation of the HSE Management System and driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the company's Zero Harm to People and Environment strategy.
Your duties will include:
- Maintain and monitor HSE records, databases and document control systems in collaboration with HSE teams.
- Conduct inspections, training, inductions and safety meetings, ensuring effective follow-up actions.
- Prepare audit documentation and manage incident reporting and corrective action close-out.
- Provide HSE advice to staff and management, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.
- Carry out risk assessments, method statement reviews, and support incident investigations.
- Monitor compliance with safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.
- Analyse HSE performance data and support improvement initiatives and safety campaigns.
- Conduct audits and inspections and liaise with contractors and regulatory bodies.
The Key Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) with 2-5 years' HSE experience.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communicator able to influence at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE software.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
