As the Domain Architecture Lead, you will define and drive the architecture strategy for EnBW’s trading functions. This role requires a Subject Matter Expert in architecture, covering both technical and functional domains, with extensive experience in commodities trading. You will ensure the trading architecture is robust, future-proof, and aligned with EnBW’s overall business objectives. You will be responsible for reviewing the current architecture, identifying areas of improvement, and proposing solutions to modernise the tech stack. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to challenge the status quo, and the foresight to design systems with long-term scalability in mind:
- Develop and own the architecture strategy: Ensure alignment with business objectives across EnBW.
- Integration of trading systems: Oversee the integration of trading systems, including ETRM platforms such as Endur, ensuring seamless connectivity across all functions.
- Review and modernize the technology stack: Propose innovative solutions and vendor products to support business growth.
- Produce technical designs: Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and network teams to align with EnBW architectural patterns.
- Architectural reviews of ongoing projects: Ensure they meet future needs.
- Collaborate with system owners and business verticals: Ensure all systems are fit for purpose and aligned with a roadmap for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on industry technologies and trends: Ensure EnBW leverages cutting-edge tools and practices.
Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Domain Architect within a Commodity Trading Organisation, Investment Bank, or similar environment. Deep knowledge of commodities trading and associated business processes, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Automated Trade Execution, Data Consolidation and Governance. Experience in large-scale, transformative programmes, ideally in a greenfield environment. Expertise in trading systems, particularly ETRM platforms like Endur. Strong knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure, AWS) and messaging patterns (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Service Bus). Familiarity with API connectivity stacks, data warehousing, and reporting frameworks. Experience in agile development methodologies and modern technology stacks. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and facilitate discussions at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, focusing on delivering results in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within large teams.

The Trading business unit is responsible for the optimal management of the EnBW portfolio, is active in the marketing of renewable energies and thus supports the Energiewende. We are also involved in future topics such as hydrogen or smart & digital trading, as well as in new supply contracts and the management of renewable energies. EnBW's business unit Trading operates with an international team of employees from more than 30 nations, represented at 4 locations: Germany, England, Norway and Switzerland.
This role can be based in our London Office or in our German Headquarter.
