Veremark is a remote-first HR tech scale-up on a mission to help the world trust faster. We started with background and reference checking, pioneering an entirely new approach through Verepass - a blockchain solution which facilitates instant verification by enabling candidates to own, manage, and share their securely-held and verified career credentials. We have recently launched our second product - a Whistleblowing platform with end-to-end encryption enabling employees to report issues safely and anonymously.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR professional to take on a unique dual role as our HR Manager for the UK & India, and Learning Development. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive, hands-on HR support to our employees in the UK and India, while also designing and implementing the global learning and development strategy for the entire organization.

As the primary HR point of contact for these regions, you will manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring compliance with respective local employment laws and fostering a positive work environment. Concurrently, you will act as our L&D specialist, creating impactful training programs that drive employee growth, support career development, and strengthen our company culture. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for both multi-regional HR excellence and employee development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all HR-related inquiries from employees and managers in the UK and India.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, promotions, and offboarding processes for both regions.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, and performance improvement procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies in both the UK and India.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK and Indian employment law, keeping up-to-date with legislative changes and updating policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Administer regional payroll and benefits, acting as the liaison with external providers in both countries.
  • Champion company culture and initiatives within the UK and India, driving engagement and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.
  • Lead the people and culture integration strategy during mergers and acquisition, conducting cultural diagnostics, identifying gaps, and designing structured integration roadmaps.
  • Serve as the HR change agent, driving organisational alignment, harmonisation of policies, and consistent employee experience across merged entities.
  • Bridge cultural, operational, and behavioural differences by facilitating alignment workshops, communication frameworks, and change engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to unify teams under a shared identity, shared goals, and common performance standards.
Learning & Development:
  • Design, develop, and execute a global Learning & Development strategy that aligns with our business objectives and company values.
  • Conduct training needs analyses across all departments to identify skills gaps and development opportunities.
  • Create and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and e-learning content on topics such as leadership, management skills, communication, and professional development.
  • Develop clear career pathways and development frameworks to support internal mobility and succession planning.
  • Manage the L&D budget and relationships with external training vendors.
  • Establish key metrics to measure the effectiveness and ROI of all training initiatives, providing regular reports to leadership.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 2 years in an HR Manager or similar generalist role.
  • At least 8+ years of relevant L&D experience; proven experience in designing and delivering successful L&D programs and strategies from the ground up.
  • Demonstrable HR experience managing workforces in both the UK and India.
  • Deep understanding and practical application of UK and Indian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or 7) is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with an awareness of cross-cultural nuances.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
