HGV C1 Shunter required - Logistics done differently. Can you imagine missing out on your favourite cereal or newspaper, or not being able to have your morning coffee and catch up on the news? Without you, this could be an all-too-common reality. Our client is starting a new partnership with a global distribution organisation, and for this, we need you to come and save the nation! We are currently hiring Class 1 Shunter Drivers for our clients Ellesmere Port operation. You will be working 4-on, 4-off days from our Ellesmere Port depot. We can provide guaranteed hours, a brand-new fleet, and a great bunch of people.

Pay, benefits and more

In return for your hard work, we’ll offer you a competitive salary, OT: 1.5. Weekly hours are based on a 38.5-hour work pattern across various shifts below. You’ll have access to a variety of benefits, including a workplace pension and many other perks, including ongoing CPC training and personal development opportunities.

  • DAYS: Monday to Friday (DAYS) £15.69 p/h (12 hour shifts)
  • NIGHTS: Sunday to Thursday (Nights) - £17.01 p/h (12 hour shifts)

What you need to succeed:

  • A maximum of no more than 6 points on your license
  • Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tacho Card
  • No DD, DR points on your license

Duties include:

  • Moving and positioning trailers safely on site
  • Coupling/uncoupling trailers
  • Carrying out basic vehicle and safety checks
  • Loading and unloading cardboard and reels
  • Securing loads using straps, ratchets, and corner protection
  • Ensuring loads are safe, stable, and compliant
  • Completing load and delivery paperwork
  • Communicating with the Traffic Office
  • Maintaining clean and safe work areas

About you:

  • Valid shunting licence (or relevant experience)
  • Safety-focused and reliable
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous shunting or yard experience desirable
