Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for performing various tasks that support the operational needs of our projects. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Duties
- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as cleaning and organising work areas.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Operate basic hand tools and machinery as required.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and safety protocols.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on site.
- Assist skilled tradespeople with their tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a labouring or construction role is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- A valid driver’s licence is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing work environments.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of brick materials according to specifications.
- Measure and cut materials to ensure precise fitting.
- Mix mortar and other bonding agents as required for construction tasks.
- Construct walls, arches, and other structures using various masonry techniques.
- Repair damaged brickwork and perform maintenance on existing structures.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and roofers to complete projects efficiently.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in masonry or a related field is essential.
- Proficiency in bricklaying techniques is required.
- Familiarity with welding practices is advantageous.
- Experience using power tools and hand tools relevant to masonry work.
- A background in carpentry would be beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is preferred.
Hours 8am to 5pm
Pay: 16.25p/h
