Our client is looking for experienced Engineers with both a strong Electrical or Mechanical bias to join their Engineering team, based in North Wales. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on fault finding, preventative maintenance, and driving equipment reliability within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, whilst also potentially going to other sites and repairing and installing equipment.
On Offer: £18 - £23 per hour depending on experience. Days and shifts available.
The Role: To establish and maintain safe, compliant and effective engineering operations that continually develop the site's asset base by following the Engineering strategy for proactive work whilst responding to breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative and predictive maintenance across a range of mechanical equipment and complete breakdown repairs in a timely manner to minimise downtime.
- Carry out mechanical fault finding, repair and continuous improvement activities across production and site machinery both in the workshop and at client sites.
- Support installation, commissioning and modification of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Assess the need for spares by ensuring that the critical spares and spares list is up to date and stock is at the required levels.
- Escalate any issues in a timely manner to the Engineering Manager.
- Ensuring a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment.
- Champion safety.
- Using root cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent re-occurrence.
- Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site by ensuring all actions are completed.
- Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive improvement throughout the site.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Qualified or time served in Electrical Engineering disciplines - Desired.
- Mechanical knowledge or multi-skilled experience would be advantageous.
- Strong Electrical fault finding and maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experienced in welding and fabrication - Advantageous.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level - Desirable.
- Legionella and HACCP awareness - Desirable.
- Experience in FMCG - Desirable.
