Housing Support Co-ordinator

Barnet

£30,000 per annum

Full time, permanent

Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm

ENB are working with our supported living client in London who provide supporting living accommodation to individuals with mental health and autism.

Wellbeing and independence of residents in living is really important to this business, they do a fantastic job to support their tenant’s day to day with wrap around care. In particular, motivate and support residents in relation to maintaining a tenancy, managing finances, developing coping skills, hygiene, diet and nutrition and conflict resolution.

As one of the Support Coordinators, your role will be to ensure that the day-to-day administration, management and maintenance of the scheme is in accordance with the association’s standards and procedures as well as co-ordinating, liaising with the provision of outside support services for all residents.

What will you be doing?

  • To make daily contact with all residents.
  • To support residents in relation to maintaining a tenancy, managing finances, developing coping skills, hygiene, diet and nutrition.
  • Provide advice on paying rent and service charges, including assisting in claiming welfare benefits.
  • To support residents in dealing with interpersonal conflict resolution.
  • To provide emotional support, counselling and crisis intervention.
  • To co-ordinate, liaise and monitor the provision of outside support services for all residents.
  • Developing and implementing personalised support plans.
  • To report to the Housing Managers on a regular basis on the welfare of residents.
  • To liaise and make referrals of other agencies, working in partnership with them for the benefit of all residents.
  • Facilitate resident engagement both within the scheme and local community.
  • To undertake 'concierge’ duties ensuring the security of the scheme, including responding to any alarm calls and dealing with emergency situations etc.
  • Manage the building – report repairs, carry out health and safety checks etc.
  • To follow and adhere to all of the Association’s policies and procedures.

What experience do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Experience of working with people with mental health conditions or people who are on the autism spectrum.
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or similar.
  • A proven professional approach to working with people, including tenants, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Experience and skills in working with professional agencies including social care and health settings.
  • A sound knowledge of the psychological and social needs of with people with mental health needs and autism and how to ensure these are met.
  • A commitment to help people live independently in their own home within the community.
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
