Northampton

Up to £50k per annum

ENB have been appointed to support our HR Consultancy client in Northampton who are growing their team. As a business, they provide practical, commercially focused HR support with a very human approach.

They are looking for an experienced HR professional, either somebody who has prior consultancy experience or somebody has operated at HR Business Partner or HR Manager level who is CIPD Level 5 qualified or above, solid generalist HR experience and a good working knowledge of UK employment law.

Working within the consultancy you will be supporting clients across a wide range of industries with varying HR matters, including employee relations, disciplinary and grievance, absence, performance, capability, redundancy, restructuring, TUPE, investigations and general day to day HR advice.

It would be fantastic if you enjoy learning and development to, ideally they would like somebody who is confident in front of a room, can make learning practical and engaging, and can turn technical HR topics into something managers can easily understand and use with training subjects including employment law, difficult conversations, performance management, leadership, absence management, equality and inclusion, psychological safety and other people-management topics.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Advise on disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance issues.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary hearings, appeals and difficult conversations.
  • Advise on dismissals, redundancies, restructures and settlement agreements, where appropriate.
  • Ensure HR practices align with current employment legislation and best practice.
  • Help clients develop performance management, succession planning and talent development approaches.
  • Support training and development initiatives for managers and employees.
  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and prioritise competing demands.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional HR services or ongoing support.

Professional judgement and integrity are extremely important to them. You will need to be confident in your advice and, equally, when to stop and ask for a second opinion.

They are looking for someone who is professional, organised, commercially aware and able to manage a varied workload independently, while still enjoying being part of a small and friendly team.

And one thing is genuinely essential… A good sense of humour. They take their work seriously, but not themselves. They want someone warm, approachable and down to earth who can deal with difficult HR situations professionally, deliver great training and still have a laugh with the team along the way.
