Ipswich

Salary: Β£39,000 per annum

ENB are delighted to be partnering with our client, a CQC regulated care organisation in Ipswich, to recruit an experienced Senior HR Advisor.

This is an opportunity for a HR professional looking to take on greater responsibility, develop your leadership skills and play a key role in shaping the organisation's people function.

Working closely with the CEO and wider management team, you will provide expert HR advice across the organisation, support complex employee relations matters, oversee recruitment activity and help ensure the organisation remains fully compliant with employment legislation and CQC requirements.

Importantly, this role offers genuine scope for progression towards an HR Manager position, making it an ideal opportunity for an ambitious HR Advisor ready for their next career move.

The role

As Senior HR Advisor, you will act as a senior point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical and commercially aware HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.

You will also provide day to day guidance and mentoring to members of the HR team, acting as a point of escalation for more complex queries and supporting the continued development of the HR function.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional HR advice and guidance on employment legislation, policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Advising managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary and grievance processes, absence management, performance, capability and flexible working.
  • Supporting investigations, hearings and meetings, ensuring processes are fair, consistent and legally compliant.
  • Overseeing recruitment activity and ensuring safer recruitment practices are consistently followed.
  • Supporting workforce planning, staff retention and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to HR team members and supporting their professional development.
  • Monitoring HR trends, employment legislation and regulatory developments and advising the CEO of relevant implications.
  • Supporting compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding requirements, employment legislation and organisational policies.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Supporting HR audits, inspections and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of HR policies, processes and practices.
  • Working closely with the CEO and management team to develop leadership and people-management capability.
  • Taking on increasing management responsibility as your experience and capability develop.

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor who is confident handling a broad range of HR and employee relations matters and is ready to take the next step in their career.

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR qualification, or be working towards this.
  • Previous experience working within a CQC-regulated organisation
  • Significant experience in an HR advisory role.
  • A good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment, ideally health or social care.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and workforce planning.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting junior HR colleagues.
  • Knowledge of safer recruitment principles.
  • An understanding of GDPR, confidentiality and HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • The confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels.
