Enactor is a unified commerce platform built for ambitious retailers — spanning POS, mobile, kiosk, self-checkout, order management, inventory, promotions and CRM across every customer channel, and covering the full hardware estate from POS terminals and printers to scanners, mobile devices, and payment devices. Our customers include some of the world's most operationally demanding retailers across the UK, Europe, the Americas, and Asia, and our global partner network is growing rapidly. This role is central to that growth — winning new business, deepening existing customer relationships, enabling our partner network, and representing Enactor at the world's leading retail technology events.

This is a varied and demanding role with four distinct but interconnected dimensions:

  • Winning new business through consultative presales
  • Helping existing customers maximise value from their Enactor investments
  • Building capability across our growing global partner network
  • Representing Enactor at major international retail events including NRF Retail's Big Show, EuroShop, and equivalent events across Asia-Pacific

Across all of these areas, the same foundation applies: deep retail industry expertise combined with the ability to speak credibly about operational outcomes, commercial drivers, and retail best practice. Customers, prospects, and partners should leave conversations feeling they have gained genuine insight into their own business — not simply seen a software demonstration. The role spans the full breadth of Enactor's unified commerce platform and is emphatically not limited to store systems alone. Customer discussions regularly cover:

  • Order management
  • Inventory and stock operations
  • Promotions and loyalty
  • CRM and customer engagement
  • Omni channel and unified commerce workflows

Just as important is hands‐on confidence with the hardware ecosystem that supports modern retail operations. You should be comfortable configuring, troubleshooting, and demonstrating:

  • Receipt printers
  • Barcode scanners
  • Payment hardware and peripherals

This role is based at our Hertford headquarters as part of a close‐knit sales and presales organisation where collaboration is constant and individual contribution is highly visible.

We are particularly interested in individuals who bring:

  • Strong presales or solutions consulting experience within retail technology or SaaS environments
  • Experience working with enterprise retailers or recognised retail brands
  • A consultative and commercially aware approach to customer engagement
  • Technical curiosity and hands‐on capability, including the ability to configure demos and leverage AI tooling where appropriate
  • High energy, adaptability, and strong communication skills in customer‐facing environments

How to prepare for a job interview at Enactor

Show Off Your Customer Service Skills

Retail is all about providing an exceptional customer experience, so be ready to discuss your past customer service stories. We should have examples on hand of how we've handled difficult situations or gone above and beyond to meet a customer's needs. These anecdotes will bring your application to life!

Familiarity with Point of Sale Systems

Many retail roles require us to work with Point of Sale (POS) systems, so it's a good idea to brush up on any relevant software you’ve used before. If you’re familiar with systems like Shopify or Square, don’t forget to mention this during the interview. Highlighting technical proficiency can set us apart from other candidates!

Understand Product Knowledge

Be prepared to discuss the products that the store sells and how we can contribute to their sales. Showing enthusiasm for the products and a willingness to learn can impress interviewers. We should research popular items or trends in the industry before the interview, so we can speak confidently about them.

Be Ready for Role-Playing Scenarios

Many retail interviews include role-playing scenarios where we might have to deal with a difficult customer or upsell a product. Practising these scenarios with a friend or family member can help us feel more comfortable. The key here is to showcase our problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure!
