Consultant – Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
Location: UK
About the role
Enabling Procurement (EP) is growing and we are looking to hire consultant‑level talent to join our team.
We are open to candidates from two complementary backgrounds:
- Industry procurement professionals who have built strong foundations as buyers or category managers and are keen to move into consulting
- Consultants from other consultancies who want deeper exposure to hands‑on procurement delivery and commercial outcomes
What matters most to us is how you think, how you analyse problems, and how you apply commercial judgement.
Who this role is for
This role will suit someone who:
- Has 3–6 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or consulting
- Has demonstrated strong academic performance
- Has developed a solid grounding through either a structured rotation or graduate programme at a leading organisation, or a consulting role focused on procurement, operations, or cost transformation
- Combines analytical rigour with a practical, commercial mindset
- Is comfortable working with data, stakeholders, and suppliers
- Is motivated by real delivery – not just analysis or slide production
What you’ll work on
As a Consultant at EP, you will work directly with clients on high‑impact procurement and sourcing challenges, including:
- Strategic sourcing and competitive tendering across direct and indirect spend
- Cost‑reduction and margin‑improvement initiatives
- Supplier negotiations and commercial model redesign
- Spend analysis, diagnostics, and opportunity sizing
- Supporting private‑equity‑backed and high‑growth businesses through rapid change
This is a delivery‑led consulting role with significant client exposure and responsibility from an early stage.
Why join Enabling Procurement (EP)?
- Variety and pace
You’ll work across multiple clients, sectors, and categories – accelerating your learning curve. - Depth over theory
EP focuses on what clients actually buy, pay for, and deliver. You’ll build deep understanding of cost drivers, supplier economics, and execution. - Flat structure, real responsibility
Consultants are trusted to own workstreams, interact directly with clients, and influence outcomes. - International exposure
Projects span the UK, Europe, and the US and we operate as one global talent pool – providing broad perspective with regular international travel opportunities. - Entrepreneurial environment
EP is growing. You’ll help shape delivery approaches, tools, and IP, gaining exposure to how a consulting business is built. - A differentiated consulting experience
For industry hires: a strong, supported transition into consulting. For consulting hires: deeper commercial exposure and hands‑on delivery than many traditional firms.
What we’re looking for
- Strong academic track record
- 3–6 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or consulting
- Evidence of analytical capability and commercial judgement
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and suppliers
- Curiosity, energy, and appetite to learn fast
