Are you interested in working for an award-winning social care charity? Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants, but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires assistance to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling, or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections. Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse; Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let us introduce you to Billy: Billy lives within a supported living accommodation with staff supporting him 8am-9pm Monday-Sunday. Billy enjoys going out with staff using his car to places like discos, the beach, long walks, bowling, or to the gym. Billy also likes to walk into Largs town to have a look at the fairground rides and enjoys an ice cream every so often. Sometimes Billy enjoys just having a day in the house watching movies, colouring, and flicking through his magazines. Billy has autism, which means he likes his routine of how his day goes, and sometimes there can be challenging days, but staff are trained to support Billy in the best way and to follow his Positive Behaviour Plan. Billy also has epilepsy, so his staff are trained around this, but this is controlled by medication.
That is why Billy needs you! Will you bring your best so that Billy can live his best life?
