Shift pattern: dayshifts, 8am – 8pm and waking nightshifts, 8pm – 8am. Are you interested in working for an award-winning social care charity? Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have a vital role within Enable, making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. You will be supporting someone who requires help to achieve their goals and outcomes. Each person has different support requirements, so your role may include assisting with personal care, moving and handling, or Positive Behaviour Support while helping expand their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support. Our Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure safety, wellbeing and aspirations are met. The people we support have varied interests and aspirations. Within Arran House we support two individuals. Let us introduce you to Darren: "People who know me would say I am a lively, likeable and intriguing young man. I enjoy engaging with my staff, but it is important they take the time to get to know me and build my trust. I have Autism Spectrum Disorder and a learning disability and require additional support with day-to-day living. My team supports me with all aspects of living in my own home, including personal care, Positive Behaviour Support and working toward my individual goals. At times I can become anxious and upset and I need my team to help me with this; my team are trained in PAMOVA to support me during these times. I also enjoy going for walks, driving in my van (staff drive for me), visiting parks and using the swings. I enjoy playing games at home, Lego and jigsaws."

Let us introduce you to Jordan: Jordan is in his early 20s, has moved around and now lives locally. He enjoys technology and WWE, requires routines and boundaries to feel safe. He will be working toward accessing his local community; he likes watching YouTube and researching topics. Jordan can communicate verbally, and his team supports him to make good choices and provide prompts to manage daily life in a structured way. Over time, he would benefit from developing life skills to live independently in his new home.
