We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer to join our Health and Safety team based in Eurocentral. The primary function of this role is to act as the internal contact for all health and safety related matters, supporting the Health and Safety Manager to develop and deliver a proactive health and safety service, and providing competent technical and legal advice to all staff in a multi-site organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the internal contact for all health and safety matters.
- Supporting the Health and Safety Manager in developing and delivering a proactive health and safety service.
- Providing competent technical and legal advice to all staff across multiple sites.
- Developing and maintaining safety management systems.
- Delivering advice, guidance, assistance, and support on health and safety policy, procedures, safe systems of work, compliance with legislation, audits, investigations, premises visits, risk assessment, and training.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Health and Safety Officer or equivalent with a proven track record in audits, investigations and policy development.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Full driving licence with access to a personal vehicle.
- Right to work in the UK.
About You:
- Experience within a Health and Safety Officer/Advisor role (essential).
- Experience in the social care sector and housing/facilities (desirable).
- Experience developing, reviewing, implementing and monitoring safe systems of work.
- Experience providing health and safety advice with knowledge and understanding of health and safety management techniques.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering improved safety standards.
- Experience conducting audits and investigations across a range of work activities.
- Experience and knowledge of fire risk assessments.
- Experience designing and delivering H&S training.
Abilities, Skills and Knowledge:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
- Up-to-date professional knowledge through CPD.
- Proficient in IT systems.
- Full driving licence with vehicle access for business purposes.
- Ability to foster and maintain positive internal and external relationships.
- Ability to develop and deliver health & safety strategy and policy.
- Ability to develop and deliver training materials.
- Ability to produce statistical information and undertake analysis and associated reporting.
