The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me. Enable is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Community Connector to join us in ensuring they have the same opportunities as everyone else. Sitting within our Communities team you would be responsible for delivering Enable Scotland’s Summer of Sport youth programme in Glasgow and Activate Inverclyde, delivering across Greenock, Port Glasgow and Gourock. Delivering a programme that engages 8–18-year-olds and adults in activity to develop their access to their communities, including sport and cultural activity, as well as develop their confidence, peer network, independent travel skills, health & wellbeing and participation in building a positive life.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Enable Scotland’s Summer of Sport youth programme in Glasgow and Activate Inverclyde, delivering across Greenock, Port Glasgow and Gourock.
  • Engage 8–18-year-olds and adults in activity to develop access to their communities, including sport and cultural activity, and to develop confidence, peer networks, independent travel skills, health & wellbeing and participation in building a positive life.

  • Is friendly, engaging, and person-centred in their approach.
  • Is confident working one-to-one and facilitating groups.
  • Has experience delivering group activities or community-based work.
  • Has a genuine interest in inclusion, equality, and community development.
  • Enjoys working outdoors and in local community settings.
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with a wide range of people.
