Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Located in Govan, DePaul House is a residential support service for young adults transitioning into independent living. As a young adult who has experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, including separation and loss, I would like to grow and gain independent living skills which include managing money, shopping and cooking skills, managing my health, building my training and employability skills, and addressing any addictive behaviours.
To achieve this, I would like someone to support me by helping me to access resources like mental, physical and sexual health services, create budget plans and weekly shopping lists, help me keep my flat tidy and laundry up to date, access addiction services, offer me weekly flat checks and monthly key sessions, and support me to recognise my own potential and self-worth through self-esteem building achievements.
To ensure 24-hour support is provided to the people we support, the role of project worker does include overnight support, weekend working, and shift work which includes a mixture of early and late shifts. As a Personal Assistant at De Paul House, you will possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to adapt your approach to each person we support to ensure a person-centred and trauma-informed practice.
We are looking for someone who is genuinely driven to improve the lives of young adults and who is able to see that every behaviour is a form of expression. By gaining a nurturing relationship, you can help to break down barriers and support a young adult to build strategies to manage emotions. You will need resilience, compassion, empathy, patience, humour, boundaries, consistency, and to feel passionate about supporting young adults to thrive and go through their own journey to independent living.
A positive and flexible outlook to your work is essential, and you should be able to work on your own and as part of a team. We believe in developing all our staff and we provide an extensive learning programme together with in-house career development opportunities.
