Are you interested in working for an award-winning social care charity? Personal Assistants (Support Workers) play a crucial role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants, but you will be supporting someone who requires assistance to achieve their goals and outcomes.

Each person we support has different requirements, so your role may include:

  • Assisting with various aspects of personal care
  • Moving and handling
  • Positive behavioural support
  • Expanding social networks and connections

Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations of the people we support are met.

The people we support have varied interests and hobbies and share many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they often do not get the opportunity to experience these. A career with Enable is rewarding and diverse, with Personal Assistants having the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.

Within Arran House, we support two individuals:

Darren: A lively young man with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a learning disability, requiring additional support with daily living. His team assists him with personal care, Positive Behaviour Support, and working towards his individual goals. Darren enjoys walks, drives in his van, visiting parks, and playing games at home.

Darren needs his support team to:

  • Be resilient and calm
  • Have a good sense of humour
  • Work to strict guidelines and procedures
  • Take pride in delivering a high standard of care
  • Be equally happy supporting him outdoors or having a quiet day at home

Jordan: A young man in his early 20s who enjoys technology and WWE. He requires routines and boundaries to feel safe and will be working towards accessing his local community again. Jordan communicates verbally and needs support to make good choices and manage his daily life in a structured way.

If you share the same interests and have the commitment, dedication, and desire to support each individual to get the most out of life, please apply now! Enable needs you and your values to help create an equal society for every person we support. Experience in care is not necessary; we recruit based on values and transferable skills.

About Us: Enable is a dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and other support requirements. We are looking for motivated individuals to join us in ensuring they have the same opportunities as everyone else. We provide an extensive learning programme and in-house career development opportunities, including:

The cost of PVG is paid upfront by the organisation and deducted from your wage if successfully appointed. Enable reserves the right to close this vacancy early if sufficient applications are received. Please submit your application as early as possible if this vacancy is of interest.
