Job description: Personal Assistants (Support Workers) play a critical role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities. They provide personal care, moving and handling, positive behavioural support and help expand social networks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and positive behavioural support.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of clients are met.
- Support individuals to achieve their goals and outcomes throughout the day.
- Engage in activities that reflect the person’s interests, such as sewing, baking, horse riding, swimming or hill walking.
Qualifications
- Ability to adapt communication style to build successful and enjoyable relationships with supported people.
- Commitment to work with individuals through their personal support plans to help them achieve goals and celebrate successes.
- Positive and flexible outlook; able to work independently and as part of a team.
