Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?

Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.

Let us introduce you to Liza and Iona:

Liza and Iona share a house but are 2 very different ladies with very different interests.

Liza loves nothing more than enjoying a glass of wine or two at a social occasion. She is a lively bubbly lady in her early 40s who enjoys company and a bleather with everyone she meets. Liza enjoys getting out and about for a coffee and a walk round her local town. She also likes having day trip away. Liza is a regular at the local gym. Indoors Liza loves music and has a very varied musical taste. Soaps and quiz shows are her viewing musts on the TV. Liza loves being supported to try out new recipes when she cooks. Liza receives support from 9am to 8pm every day.

Iona is a sports mad lady in her mid 40's. She is an enthusiastic viewer of most sports when they are on TV. Especially football and snooker. Iona also enjoys a competitive game of pool. She is a very busy lady with a lot of different activities in any given week. In her down time she loves to relax with her i-pad. With a keen interest in photography she loves to show people her latest pictures or any stories that catch her eye. Colouring in and reading her papers are also ways Iona likes to relax.

Sadly its not always possible for Liza and Iona to enjoy what many people would consider these "simple pleasures " without proper dedicated support.

That is why Liza and Iona needs you! Will you bring your best so that Liza and Iona can live their best life?
