Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections. Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Let us introduce you to Jessica: Jessica lives in her own house in the Longstone area of Edinburgh, she enjoys horse riding, swimming and following her routines on a weekly basis. Jessica loves doing jigsaws and playing simple games whilst at home, she also loves swimming twice a week and would like you to swim along with her. In the evenings she enjoys watching Disney films. Jessica also enjoys trips to cafes with her support staff and eating a healthy diet at home so basic home cooking skills are important. Jessica likes to have her routines and structure, this is what makes her feel safe.
Jessica requires support in all aspects of managing her home and personal care. She lives a full life attending a day centre Monday to Friday and enjoying a variety of mainly outdoor activities such as walking and Riding for the Disabled at weekends. Jessica has a great sense of humour and enjoys time with her family who are actively involved in her support. That is why Jessica needs you!
